|
|
I'm to understand there has been a surround sound mix of Zaireeka album made, and I would like to get ahold of it. I am having on luck finding it on soulseek, however. does anyone have any ideas? I think the Flips are going to release and official surround DVD of this next, but i know its already been done by a fan..
btw, I do own the album, so I'm not advocating piracy..
thanks for any help |

| wouldn't that sort of defeat the purpose of being able to control the mixing? |

a surround mix would be interesting only because its a pain to try to play all 4 cds at once. it would work best if there was a standard for 8 channels of surround. the downside to any surround mix of zaireeka would be the loss of the chance/dada elements of the playback of the 4 cds at once - that is the phase shifts that result from different start times and variations in the playback speed due to the individual charactistics of the cd players. _________________ 你丫真牛B! ni ya zhen niu bi

| these things I am aware of. i have listened several times to Zaireeka the traditional way, and it is indeed amazing. however, the point of the surround mix, while admittantly losing some channels and part of the novelty, does allow one to enjoy it in close to the desired form with a lot less hassle |

wouldn't this whole thread be great if the album was actually good and worth listening to?

I couldn't disagree more, jackass. its really, really good. better than anything that came out before it, and almost up to par with The Soft Bulletin.
that's just, like, your opinion, man |
