well as i said Ugly Casanova was Issac's band that her started necause he thought Modest Mouse would never go anywhere. Now that Modest has done well i would be shocked to hear Issac was doing Ugly assanova stuff and not another modest albums.

As with Desa, i hope they do new stuff and the word on the street (aks SCWB) is that they will.

Wasnt the band formed becuase of the drunk guy who got on stage with them at a MM show and started writhing letters to them. and the letters had stories of this drunk guys life and at the bottem of every letter he singed it 'Ugly Casanova' and that some of the songs are inspired mainly by the letters that were written to them?
Im asking i could be wrong but thats why i thought the band had been formed.

i think that story was made up just so they'd have an interesting press release.

as for desaparecidos, i've heard that they were going to try and record at least an ep before bright eyes toured later this month. that's what conor told a friend of mine at a show a couple months ago, and then i read that denver said that there's a 65% chance of that happening.

a long long time ago (not long after the full length was released), www.westernvinyl.com mentioned that they were gonna release an ugly casanova ep "in the future" in their news section. it stayed up there for quite some time and has since been taken down. I doubt there'll be anymore ugly casanova stuff. isaac has said in interviews that he had a clause in his contract with epic that allowed him to do ugly casanova, and that he thought it was a loophole for him to do stuff and put out whatever he wanted. but it turns out that this clause in his contract was only a one-time deal. so, I think he may have trouble releasing more ugly casanova stuff without epic's blessing.... or at least until his contract with them is up.

nooo?! I liked the story of crazy man/fan sends songs to band, and disappears off the face of the earth. I think i may just carry on believing this story (like santa) because its far more interesting.
call me idealistic, whatever.

Actually true to life Ugly Casanova was/is Graham this guy who came through a window at a venue and had cut his hand and was all incoherent. Rumors about the whole thing linger, but when they did the project originally the guy gave Isaac a book of song lyrics and was talking to the guys of MM. Some of these lyrics were penned into The Moon and Antartica, some were used in Everywhere and his nasty Parlour tricks, and then they took Graham in and had him lay down tracks for himself, using isaac and some others as back up musicians. On the original tapes graham is singing, but he up and disappeared and Subpop would not release a half done album or a unknown e.p by some guy, so the "tapes" are hidden away somewhere.

As for Desa, i have heard several times that although polite and optomistic, both Conor and Denver said it was over.
