He played Neva Dinova's "Spring Cleaning" as well, which was pretty sweet. |
I'm pretty sure that Conor wrote Spring Cleaning. Could be wrong. |
Jake Bellows actually wrote the song and performed it on One Jug....And to answer the question I was on the floor.
DId anyone else think it was funny when someone asked him to "play Cassadaga!" during the encore? |
haha, yeah. annnd then conor o said "that's one of our albums."
p.s. i wish i knew you because then i would have said hello to you at the show |
And the way in which he said it, "Yeah....that's one of our albums..." was perfectly condescending in a way that the person would have no idea. I found so many funny things about that show...The 4 random 40+ women who were probably half drunk and heard their was a show next door so they bought tickets and then sat at the bar the whole time after realising (sp) they probably shouldn't have, the guys pointing their fingers like they were at a hip hop show, the kid next to me who was super into the show then got drunk and passed out until the encore, the chant of "LET US DOWN"...and the show wasn't too bad either |
oh man i was up on the balcony and people were getting pretty upset. one guy made a comment about "all the fucking moms," which was funny. everytime people started chanting i would just sort of roll my eyes maybe because i doubted it would change anything and it didn't. oh and yeah the show was really good too, i thought all the songs sounded prty top notch. _________________ we all have the same hands, but we come from different moms. |

Yeah, it was funny, because the chanting and mob mentality was probably the worst thing to do. The Venue was to blame though, considering it was their closing that messed it up. It's the first time I've seen him around her, except for Minneapolis. He actually seemed to be having a pretty good time, which is more than I can say for the Cassadaga tour. Still, the tour between Digital Ash and Cassadaga was his best one. _________________ "Schlitz. No Schlitz? Blatz. No Blatz? Improvise" |

I'm pretty sure that's the same tour...if it opened with a harp it is. I saw that one in DC in DAR and it was seated theatre style and everyone stayed seated, which was perfect, until they played Let's Not Shit Ourselves for the encore and he told everyone to go nuts, which they did. Great time. _________________ "Schlitz. No Schlitz? Blatz. No Blatz? Improvise" |

Yeah, I've seen him so many times I've lost count, I think the first time was in either 98 or 99....Digital Ash was also one of the highlights _________________ "Schlitz. No Schlitz? Blatz. No Blatz? Improvise" |

| Also wanted to add that at the Memphis show, Conor said that the song we call "Roosevelt Room" didn't have a name, but that he'd likely call it "Eve of Destruction". |

Took it upon myself to write down all the songs in order as they were played because I knew I had no opportunity of getting the physical set list, so here it goes:
I Must Belong Somewhere
We Are Nowhere And It's Now
Another Travelin' Song
Spring Cleaning
If The Brakeman Turns My Way
You Will....
Four Winds
Arc Of Time
Old Soul Song
Poison Oak
True Blue
Method Acting
A Song To Pass The Time
ENCORE: Lua
Walls (Circus) [Tom Petty Cover]

Yes. I love them. I've got two of their CD's (the only two I know of), and can't quit listening to them.
I'd been listening to them for a while and was very excited to see them open the show. It seemed a great fit to me, with Bob Dylan and Woodie Guthrie being their main influences (like Conor), and with their stuff being so dark and emotional.
I didn't see where Maria Taylor had any business being in there, though. Her stuff seemed really bland to me. |
